Description

This skillet creamy buffalo chicken & sausage pasta combines spicy buffalo sauce with rich Alfredo, juicy chicken, and savory sausage all in one easy dish. It’s a bold, satisfying weeknight dinner made in just one pan.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound Italian sausage, casing removed

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained

1 (15 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce

1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce

1 pound pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, brown Italian sausage over medium-high heat. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.

2. Add chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.

3. Add onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

4. Stir in diced tomatoes and green chilies, Alfredo sauce, and buffalo wing sauce. Bring to a simmer.

5. Add pasta to the skillet. If needed, add water or broth to just cover the pasta.

6. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and sauce is thickened.

7. Stir in cooked sausage and chicken, mixing well to combine.

8. Top with shredded mozzarella, cover until melted.

9. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with green onions or parsley if desired.

Notes

You can use precooked chicken or sausage to save time.

Adjust spice level by using less buffalo sauce or adding extra hot sauce.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
