- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 12 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple in juice (drained)
- 16 ounces whipped topping
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine broken pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup sugar. Mix well and spread evenly on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Cool completely on the sheet for about 30 minutes.
- In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, whip the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add in the remaining sugar and vanilla extract if desired; beat until smooth.
- Drain crushed pineapple thoroughly using a fine-mesh strainer and fold into the cream cheese mixture.
- Gently fold in whipped topping in three additions until combined.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
- Just before serving, fold in some cooled pretzel mixture and reserve some for topping.
