Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or steak
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook diced bacon until crispy; remove and set aside.
  2. Using the bacon fat, sear thinly sliced beef until browned; set aside.
  3. Sauté diced onion and bell peppers with minced garlic until soft.
  4. Stir in flour, then add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix in heavy cream and return beef and bacon to the pot; simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot alongside cheesy toast.
