Description

A creamy, smoky-sweet pasta made in one pot with tender chicken, honey, BBQ sauce, and cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb cooked chicken, shredded or diced

12 oz pasta (like rotini or penne)

2 cups chicken broth

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup BBQ sauce

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced red onion

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley or green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced red onion and cook until softened, 2-3 minutes.

2. Add chicken, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.

3. Pour in chicken broth, honey, BBQ sauce, and uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. When pasta is cooked, stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.

5. Serve hot, garnished with parsley or green onions if desired.

Notes

For spicier pasta, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.

You can swap chicken for turkey sausage, shrimp, or plant-based protein.

Use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
