Description

Create delightful Candy Apples with a cotton candy-inspired swirl! Perfect for parties—try this easy recipe today!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink and blue food coloring gel (or your choice)
  • Optional: cotton candy-flavored extract, edible glitter or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Scrub and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into each apple and place them on parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and cream of tartar. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Increase heat to high and boil without stirring until reaching 300°F (150°C). Remove from heat; stir in vanilla extract and optional flavoring.
  4. Divide candy into two containers; add food colorings to create swirls.
  5. Dip each apple into both colors, swirling for a marbled effect, then place on parchment paper to set.
  6. While still soft, sprinkle with glitter or sprinkles if desired. Allow to cool completely.
